Palitan na ng Sorento.
Agree, check first inflation and balancing of your tires.

Chances are the towing guys will get you.
We were helping someone push start his L300 FB in Makati CBD before and when he rolled it from the parking slot to the street so we could push, a tow truck magically appeared and towed the poor guy instead of offering assistance.
On the topic. If you're entering Makati CBD via Buendia then turning onto Paseo de Roxas, theres a MAPSA guy (tall with the requisite beer belly) whose sole purpose in life is to just stand in the middle of the road and look for coding violators. It does not matter if the car he pulls over is causing traffic. Pag new model Benz naman yung dumaan (as is the case this morning), they did not ask him to stop.

The cats are back!
Dang, this thread just walked straight into that.

This is a big EPIC FAIL on our part.

From PDI:
Quote:Manila police defend handling of deadly hostage crisis
Agence France-Presse First Posted 08:43:00 08/24/2010
Filed Under: Crime, hostage taking, Grandstand Hostage, Police MANILA, Philippines—Police on Tuesday defended their handling of a bus hostage crisis that left eight Hong Kong tourists dead, but acknowledged some "shortcomings."
Manila police commander Leocadio Santiago said his personnel had made the correct decision in allowing the stand-off to drag on for more than 10 hours before storming the bus on Monday.
"The police were willing to pursue the negotiations because we believed that the hostage-taker was still rational up to that point," Santiago told the GMA 7 television network.
"But when the driver escaped and reported that he has started killing the hostages, that was the time that the ground commander decided to assault the bus."
Asked if police followed correct procedures, he replied: "Yes."
But he said there were some areas of concern.
"We saw some obvious shortcomings in terms of capability and tactics used, or the procedure employed and we are now going to investigate this," he said.
Some shortcomings is quite an understatement. I still cannot find a picture with enough facepalms to show the general disgust at what happened.

Got to check it out yesteday. Love the MB AMG.
After sitting down in the cars (no time to take in the test drives as it was ADMU - DLSU day so i had to hightail it to AC right after ):
- I prefer the Sentra 200 over the Altis 2.0 in fit and feel (except for the cheap steering wheel on the Sentra)... once a Nissan boy, always a Nissan boy i guess. - I find the Toyota Alphard too cluttery inside fr my taste (prefer the Daimler - Chrsyler feel on the Town and Country). - The Starex Limo had awful overhead compartments; the cabinets were like those i would find in old passenger ships. - Hassle pag walang access to ATM (i wanted to buy a set of iridium plugs but did not have enough cash on me... i consoled myself with a bottle of Microtex Shampoo )

empy wrote:did they count GMA as one of those 25 disasters?
Probably not: If they counter her literally, it would have been 24.5. If they counted her figuratively along with her family and hangers-on then 25 is waaay tooo little.

If its natural disasters then that's understandable due to our location (i.e. Pacific Ring of Fire, were surrounded by water, etc.); what's appalling is that in spite of all these facts, we are not prepared to cope with these. So the outcome is always a mixture of natural disasters compounded by man made disasters/errors.
Japan for example is prone to earthquakes and they cope with this by being prepared, most especially in the technological/engineering aspect.
I was also reading about this volcano find off the coast down south:
